Environmental
Cases
Environmental cases are massive undertakings, with fact-gathering
requiring the identification of witnesses at multiple properties
over the course of decades. We have experience investigating toxic
dumping and identifying Potentially Responsible Parties [PRPs] for
clients ranging from multi-national insurers to small corporations
seeking the source of illegal dumping by past employees.
Interviewing a wide range of people--from scientists at a missile
company to truck drivers at a scrap metal yard--we have the ability
to interact with a wide-range of people--both friendly and
adversarial.
In some cases, old county records were used to identify witnesses
from the 1940s. We then tracked the witnesses to current addresses
in he United States and abroad, and interviewed them.
Other times, we identified witnesses based on nothing more than a
signature on a thirty-year old document. "This is like something
from outer space," said one witness, who was intrigued by being
linked to an event that occurred over 30 years ago, and later
provided valuable intelligence for our client.
